I love the way Evil in MR James' stories is just laying around, like toxic waste. Leftovers of the doings of evil people, for innocent people to stumble on. And, the people in his stories are sensible. Not a lot of "but there's no such thing as...", but rather. "Hm. Yeah, we gotta burn that."

Thank you Bitesized Audio for this thrilling reading of this meticulously plotted story by L.T Meade. During an episode of his 1996 BBC series "Nightmare The Birth of Horror: The Hound of the Baskervilles," which is posted on You Tube, Prof. Christopher Frayling claimed - starting at 12 minutes and 20 seconds into that You Tube "Nightmare The Birth of Horror: The Hound of the Baskervilles " video - that Arthur Conan Doyle and his associate, Fletcher Robinson, deliberately "borrowed" the entire central plot of their story from a story by L.T. Meade, published in The Strand Magazine for Dec. 1900, entitled "Followed," in which a young woman is lured out to Stonehenge, as she followed a giant black Tasmanian snake. The snake is shot by a woman following the heroine. Arthur Conan Doyle, Prof. Frayling implies, merely substituted a giant black dog for the giant black snake when he wrote "The Hound of The Baskervilles." (But perhaps Simon Stanhope already knows all this - nevertheless, thank you again Bitesized Audio, for this reading!)

I can't afford to be a pateron, but I share your videos with many others. I know that they watch because soon I see them sharing your videos or recommending your channel in the comment section. There does seem to be an AI that is imitating your voice. I've heard it on the short stories by Somerset Maugham on Neuralsurfer's channel. We can all tell that it's AI, and those who know your channel say, in the comment section, that it sounds like you. I have no idea if that should be a cause of concern for you or not. Maybe not, it probably gets people checking out your name because they see it in the comment section often. Please do more of the Man in the Corner short stories.

As somewhat of a sucker for pretty china, and rather fond of Crown Derby, I sympathise with Miss Pym! She's such a likeable and relatable character, there should be more stories about her. Sixty years old is "elderly", though? Really?

This was the first time I’d heard of the Author, and/or of ‘Lovejoy’. …I’d say that Catherine Louisa Pirkis would make a much-better detective than would Sir Arthur Conan Doyle; I find it delightful that she was not-only the first female Writer of detective-stories, but also the fact that her Protagonist is a Female Detective… yet-another ‘First’ of which to be proud!😁🥳
